Talk Periods session at Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore

This session has been big milestone for our Team. During this session there were various topics discussed among the participants:

  • Women and The Education
  • Women an The Society
  • Menstrual Hygiene 
  • Discussion on Haemoglobin
Vigneshwaran, Sarath Kumar, Nirosha, Ravi Chandrika and Rogini from our team conducted the session on the above topics.




The Man at the Center, Vigneshwaran started off the session by introducing our team members to the participants. Then he continued with a speech on 'Women - Education and Society'. During this, many questions were place before the participants Why Women Empowerment is Important? Is Women freedom still needs to be discussed? How the media portrays women? The participants came up with lot of suggestions and this discussion continued well with some briefing on roles of women in society and importance of education and also how men behave as Father and Husband?. These questions kept the participants engaging and well tuned them to the next topics.

Then came up our StupidCommonMan - Sarath Kumar with his extraordinary session on Periods - Myths and Discussion. He is always keen on breaking the taboo around the periods. He delivered all points about periods and what would a women would go through and how she needs to be taken care of her health and hygiene. Then he showcased the results of our survey on Menstrual Hygiene. 


 After this, came forward Nirosha and Ravi Chandrika with their topics on Usage and Disposal of Napkins. They addressed about the usage and how to dispose napkins in a hygienic way. There were many unknown facts provided during this time. Followed them is Rogini who spoke on Hemoglobin. In today's lifestyle many are facing problems due to low level of hemoglobin. She provided suggestion how the level of hemoglobin can be improved and maintained. She also pointed out the food habits to keep the hemoglobin level in check.







There were nearly 70 participants took part in this session and all were made aware about the Periods and Hemoglobin. Everyone provided good feedback, which was a good boost for our team to continue on this journey. We all thank the volunteers and KCT Management.

Following this, there were three sessions conducted on CSA - Child Sexual Abuse, Child safety during 18th-20th September, 2018 at three different venues. This is the first time that we have provided Hat-trick of sessions. The details about these session will follow....
